Obaidullah Habib Ulla-Spinal Cord Injury-(Pakistan)

Name: Obaidullah Habib Ulla

Sex: Male

Country: Pakistan

Age: 27

Diagnosis: Sequelae of Spinal Cord Injury

Admission Date: 2010-03-03

Pre-Treatment:
Obaidullah suffered a gunshot wound about 1 and a half years ago. He was presented with sensory-motor problems in the chest region. He was sent to a local hospital for treatment, but they lacked the special treatment required for his situation. After recovering from the trauma, the sensory-motor of under the chest had disappeared. He received physical rehabilitation training at the local hospital, but there were no obvious improvements. The sweating from the lesions decreased. Below the thoracic vertebra 5, the sensory-motor problems disappeared. He had both a bowel and bladder dysfunction. Obaidullah found out about the effective treatment for sequelae of spinal cord injuries being done at Wu Stem Cells Medical Center and after consultation with our doctors, he made the decision to come here.

Obaidullah was alert and his speaking ability was normal. His memory, calculation and orientation abilities were all normal. Both pupils were equal in size, the diameter was 3.0 mm, both eyeballs could move freely and the pupils reacted normally to light stimulus. The forehead wrinkle pattern was symmetrical. The tongue was centered in the oral cavity and the teeth were shown without deflection. He could move his neck normally. The muscle tension of both upper limbs was normal; the muscle strength was level 5. The muscle tension of both lower limbs was slightly high; the muscle strength was level 0-1. The tendon reflexes of both upper limbs were normal; the patellar tendon reflex was slightly low. The bilateral abdomen reflexes were not elicited. Obaidullah had sensation at the thoracic vertebra 4 but there was no sensation below the thoracic vertebra 4. The vibration sensation was normal above the thoracic vertebra 4. Between segments 4 and 6, the vibration sensation decreased. The bilateral Hoffmann's and Rossilimo's signs were negative. The bilateral jaw reflex was negative, the bilateral Babinski's sign was positive. He had ankle clonus in the left limb, but not in the right limb. The coordinated movement examination of both upper limbs was normal. Obaidullah couldn't cooperate with the coordinated movement examination of the lower limbs.

Treatment:

We initially gave Obaidullah a complete examination. Then he received the self stem cells activation treatment to repair the damaged neurons. He received treatment to improve the blood circulation to increase the blood supply to the damaged neurons. We also gave him daily physical rehabilitation. During the same time period, we adjusted the treatment according to Obaidullah's condition and the examination results.

Post Treatment:

Obaidullah's lesion level had decreased 2 thoracic vertebral sections (From T4 to T6). At present, he can turn over, sit up, move himself from his bed to his wheelchair and perform other physical activities by himself. The muscle strength of both lower limbs has increased 1 level. He can control his lower limbs for several seconds after bending his knees passively, and he can control the adduction and abduction movements of both lower limbs with someone's assistance.

The doctors all agree that Obaidullah's condition will continuously improve. All of us at Wu Stem Cells Medical Center hope that Obaidullah will continue with his physical rehabilitation training when he returns home, and make even further progress toward complete health.
