Eric Cernea-Autism-(Romanian)

Patient Name: Eric Cernea
Gender: Male
Age: 5 years old
Nationality: Romanian
Diagnosis: Autism

Condition on Admission:
The patient was admitted with a diagnosis of "autism" mainly due to "delayed language and intellectual development for more than 3 years". The child was born full-term and was diagnosed with autism at a local hospital at approximately 2 years of age. At present, the patient's motor ability was basically normal; he could walk, run and jump. However, he had impaired intellectual development, was almost completely non-verbal, and could only produce the syllable "ah" with occasional utterance of "mama". He exhibited frequent stereotyped behaviors, failed to respond to commands, had minimal interaction with others, and had no obvious phobias. His attention span was short, learning ability is poor, he was easily agitated, and often presented with hyperactivity. He was self-absorbed and sometimes laughed suddenly, with little change in his behavior or emotions affected by the surrounding environment. He was currently taking health supplements (multivitamins, amino acids, etc.). He received stem cell therapy in Vienna at the age of 3 years and 9 months, but no significant effect was observed.

Physical Examination on Admission:
The patient had a heart rate of 123 beats per minute, respiratory rate of 22 breaths per minute, body temperature of 36.3 °C, height of 110 cm, and weight of 17 kg. No jaundice was observed in the skin and mucous membranes. Breath sounds were clear in both lungs without rales. Cardiac sounds were strong and regular with no murmurs. The abdomen was flat and soft, and the liver and spleen were not palpable below the costal margin. No edema was noted in both lower extremities.

Neurological Examination:
The patient was conscious, easily agitated and hyperactive, jumping and shouting uncontrollably on the hospital bed. He was essentially non-verbal, only able to utter the syllable "ah". According to his mother, he occasionally mumbled an indistinct "mama" when anxious, with no other verbal communication. He exhibited inattention. Memory, orientation and calculation abilities could not be evaluated due to lack of cooperation. Both pupils were 3 mm in diameter with prompt light reflex, and eye movements were flexible. His tongue protruded in the midline, and mastication and swallowing were intact. The neck was supple. Muscle strength and tone of the extremities were essentially normal. Tendon reflexes of the extremities were normal. Pathological signs were negative. Motor functions including standing, walking, running and jumping were essentially normal. Meningeal irritation signs were negative.

Treatment Course:
The patient was admitted with a confirmed diagnosis of autism. He received treatment consisting of neural stem cells, mesenchymal stem cells, and CAST therapy. The treatment aimed to increase the number of normal cerebral nerve cells, initiate the repair of nerve damage and cerebral development, improve circulation, regulate immunity, and provide nutritional support for cranial nerves, supplemented by comprehensive rehabilitation therapy.

Post-treatment Condition:
The patient showed significant improvements in eye contact and language ability. His attention span was prolonged, and his learning ability, comprehension, ability to follow instructions, and self-control were all enhanced. His mental state improved, and his intellectual function was strengthened. Hyperactivity and restlessness were significantly reduced, and his interaction with the outside world increased. He was able to maintain eye contact and physical interaction with strangers; he could wave goodbye under guidance; he was able to speak single words such as "mama, auntie, dad, back", with an increasing trend in vocabulary. His cooperation during examinations improved. He had a good appetite, fewer nighttime awakenings, and satisfactory sleep.

With medical guidance and the enhanced function of stem cells, the child will continue to improve further.
