The patient felt pain in her knees and back especially when she was tired. She was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis by a local hospital. Her pain got worse and worse and her daily life was affected so she did some medicine injections twice a year at the local hospital. After the injection her condition got better for 2-3 months but at present she feels pain in her back, waist and the joints of her limbs.
Her spirit is normal, her weight and diet are normal, she urinates several times at night and her defecation function is normal. She has hypothyroidism and hypertension.
Bp: 149/91mmHg, Hr: 56/min, breathing rate: 16/min, body temperature: 36 degrees. Height 152cm, weight 69Kg. Nutrition status was good with normal physical development. There was no injury or bleeding spots of her skin and mucosa, no blausucht, no throat congestion, and her tonsils were not swollen. Chest development was normal, the respiratory sounds in both lungs were clear and there were no dry or moist rales. The heart beat was powerful with regular cardiac rhythm and no obvious murmur in the valves. The abdomen was bulging and soft with no masses or tenderness. The liver and spleen were normal. Her waist and back had pressing pain, there was no edema of the legs.
Patient was alert, had clear speech, her memory, comprehension and calculation abilities were normal. Both pupils were equal in size and round, with a diameter of 2.5 mm, the reaction to light was sensitive, there was no nystagmus and the eyeballs could move freely. The bilateral forehead wrinkle and nasolabial fold were symmetrical, she could close her eyes powerfully, show her teeth as normal and make her tongue extend out normally. The 4 limbs muscle power was 5 degrees, muscle tone was normal and the body sensory system examination was normal. The abdominal reflex was normal, the biceps reflex, triceps reflex and radial periosteal reflex could not be induced. The leg patellar tendon reflex and Achilles tendon reflex could not be induced, the Hoffmann sign, Rossilimo sign and Babinski sign were all negative. The fast alternate movement, finger opposite movement and heel-knee-tibia tests were normal. The meningeal irritation sign was negative.
After the admission she received 3 nerve regeneration treatments (neural stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells) to repair her damaged joints, improve environment in body, nourish joints, regulate her immune system and improve blood circulation. This was combined with rehabilitation training.
After 11 days treatment her blood sugar level was stable with the level controlled within the range 7.2- 9.0 mmol/L. Her blood pressure was 130/80mmHg. She did not have frequent urination at night like before, her liver function index decreased and the waist, back and leg joint pain all reduced.
